SUMMER 3373> Agronomical
characteristics
SUMMER 3373 is the first and only early ripening kiwi variety
world-wide, which was selected by means of a controlled cross-fertilization
between Hayward and ML2 (a fruitful male). [see
certificate].
The characteristics of this fruit are: a unique, less acidic, taste, a delicate
flavour, the bright green colour of its pulp, and the higher content of mineral
elements such as calcium and potassium. When fully ripe, it can reach a sugar
degree of 18° Brix, but it is already very good with a sugar degree of 12-13° Brix. This
rapid accumulation of sugars allows to consume the product a few days after the
harvest, unlike Hayward, whose transformation of sugars into starches lasts 2-3
months.
